We developed a tailor-made solution to a customer\u2019s problem, and then discovered it has broader support.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/vansichen.be\/en\/standard-linear-components\/guideways\/roller-guideways\/g-line\/\">G-line<\/a> is a sliding guide and is a derived product of the existing <a href=\"https:\/\/vansichen.be\/en\/standard-linear-components\/guideways\/roller-guideways\/w-line\/\">W-line<\/a>. The W-line has running wheels running on the HIWIN RG rails, the G-line uses sliding elements. These sliding elements are made from \u201cPEEK\u201d, a high-performance plastic. PEEK has a number of impressive qualities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It\u2019s operating temperature ranges from -40\u00b0 to 250\u00b0 degrees<\/li>\n<li>The plastic can withstand heavy loads<\/li>\n<li>It has excellent chemical resistance<\/li>\n<li>Low expansion coefficient<\/li>\n<li>High material stiffness coupled with excellent dimensional stability<\/li>\n<li>Approved for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries<\/li>\n<li>Ultra-high vacuum applications.<\/li>\n<li>Applications with heavy contamination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These properties ensure G-line can offer a solution in situations where existing ball or bearing guide systems are insufficient.<\/p>\n<p>An HIWIN module with profile guides \u2013 size 30 \u2013 was converted into a G guide for a pilot project for the food industry where the ambient temperature can drop to -40\u00b0. The module carriages were replaced by PEEK sliding elements.<\/p>\n<p>The external dimensions remained the same as the standard profile guides. The G-line is available for different sizes (from 15 to 65).<\/p>\n<p>For the time being, the G-line is offered on a project\/customer-specific basis.
